Adoption Support Co-ordinator (Letterbox)

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

About the role

Northamptonshire Children’s Trust Voluntary Adoption Agency are seeking a motivated and positive individual ready to take on this job share role alongside an experienced worker within a busy, county-wide team. The service provides support to adoptive families, birth families and families with children who are subject to Special Guardianship Orders. This role will be responsible for co ordinating paper and digital exchanges which enable families to keep in touch with one another, when children cannot live with their (birth) parents.

What will you be doing?

As a member of the Voluntary Adoption Agency the post holder will contribute to the provision and development of effective post adoption support services and will comply with the departmental procedures, policies and the requirements of legislation as it affects all aspects of adoption.

The main aim of the Agency is to provide stable, secure adoptive families for children who are unable to remain with their family of origin and to support adoptive families & birth families. We work in partnership with others to develop and improve the quality of support offered to adoptive families post placement and to develop the support services offered to the birth parents of children being placed for adoption.

There is an expectation that the post holder will work with colleagues from other agencies in order to facilitate letterbox exchanges for the child, the child’s siblings and the birth parents.  The post holder would be expected to work directly with colleagues and birth parents in order to achieve appropriate letterbox exchanges for the child, led by the child’s care plan. This is a varied and rewarding role that requires a confident and positive person who learns quickly.
