Family Time Supervisor

What will you be doing?

•  You will organise, supervise, record and assess child Family Time with the needs and safety of the child as the paramount concern.
• You will work as part of a team, carrying out and developing the duties and responsibilities of this post, liaising with parents/carers and professionals to ensure that Family Time meets the changing needs of children and families that reside within Northamptonshire.
• You will work approximately one Saturday a month on a rota basis and be flexible to ensure the needs of children and families are met.  
• Your base location will be aligned to your home, and you will be expected to travel across and outside of Northamptonshire.

About you

• You have an NVQ Level 3 in Working with Children/Young People (or equivalent) 
• Ideally you should have some knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and of current social care practice and child protection procedures.  
• You have experience of working with children, or caring for children, within a statutory setting. 
• You effectively engage with families and build relationships enabling them to improve outcomes for children and their families. 
• You are ‘reflective’ and creative when working with vulnerable children and families. 
• You have excellent communication skills and apply attention to detail when it comes to maintaining records. 
• The role requires regular travel across Northamptonshire and surrounding areas and may involve transporting children. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Barred List check
