About the role
We are looking for a qualified social worker who has experience of managing and supervising social workers and of working within a safeguarding context to join the Connected Persons’ Team, one part of the Fostering and Adoption Service. The team consists of a Team Manager, two Practice Managers, one Senior social worker and ten Connected Persons social workers
You will be part of a busy, supportive team which is focussed on supporting children wherever possible to remain living with family and friends into the long-term, therefore providing Permanency for these children.
What will you be doing?
You will also be expected to work very closely with colleagues from a range of teams including Safeguarding teams, Children in Care teams and the Case Progression team in order to ensure that assessments are completed on time and as required. This involves having a focus on Safeguarding matters as well as on embedding the Signs of Safety approach. A need to track cases effectively to ensure compliance is also a key part of this role.
About you
As a Practice Manager you will work with and supervise the team’s senior social worker and social workers to ensure that cases are allocated appropriately and that both Initial Viability Assessments and Connected Persons Assessments are completed on time and in accordance with Court and Fostering Panel timescales. You will also be responsible for quality assuring these assessments to ensure that they are professionally undertaken and of a good quality.
An understanding of Fostering Regulations, Fostering National Minimum Standards and Care Planning and Placement Regulations would be desirable as is a commitment to supporting children, wherever possible, to live within their identified network of family and friends into the long term.
You must be a qualified social worker, registered with Social Work England and have a driving licence and a car.
