Service Manager for Integrated Front Door (MASH)

About the role

We have a fantastic career opportunity for a Service Manager position to join the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub team here at Northamptonshire Children’s Trust.

Your day-to-day involves overseeing the MASH operations, projects, and initiatives. You'll be the go-to person for making sure our collaboration with other agencies is positive and effective. If there are any issues, you'll step in, challenge, support, and educate our partners to meet our standards.

This role will require the provision of strong leadership across the partnership, engaging with both internal and external partners, good communication skills are key.

What will you be doing?

As the Service Manager, you will be responsible for supporting children, young people and their families to be healthy and resilient, and able to maximise their life chances and independence.

You will have a sound understanding and ability in relation to effective management practices, particularly as they relate to service planning and performance management and development of services and staff.

· Working closely with the EDT and MASH Team Managers, who support Social Workers and other MASH Officers, while being a catalyst for improvement, promoting a culture of continuous learning, reviewing practice standards and refining systems and processes.

· Continually monitor and review referral activity and work closely with all multi-agency partners to ensure that referrals to the MASH meet local thresholds, are of a consistently good quality and are responded to in a manner that has impact and delivers a positive outcome for children. 

· Ensure that the team meets specific performance targets through effective management, monitoring and reporting arrangements are in place and working satisfactorily.

· You will work collaboratively as part of the senior leadership team to achieve the directorates aims and visions.

Our teams are based in Northampton at the Criminal Justice Centre.


About you

You will be responsible and accountable for operational and strategic practice, build strong partnerships, ensure high standards, and contribute to the strategic development of our analytical function.

It will be important to you to make a personal contribution towards improving our service. You should be a qualified social worker, registered with Social Work England with extensive post-qualifying experience of statutory social care practice and multi-agency contact is highly essential.

Level 5 NVQ Management qualification, or equivalent relevant experience.

You will have a sound understanding and ability in relation to effective management practices, particularly as they relate to service planning and performance management and development of services and staff.

Experience as a Service Manager will be an added advantage

Driving Licence is essential.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Barred List check
