About the role
Full Time – Fixed Term up to 2 years
Northamptonshire Youth Offending Service (NYOS) is a successful partnership organisation working to prevent offending by children and young people, whilst helping to resolve offences for victims and protecting the public within your community.
We are recruiting a Senior Practitioner on a fixed-term basis up to 2 years. This post will be in our Turnaround programme which is a youth early intervention programme led by the Ministry of Justice. It aims to improve outcomes for children who do not currently meet the threshold for statutory support
We will benefit from multi-year funding over 3 financial years (22/23, 23/24, 24/25) which will enable us to intervene earlier and improve outcomes for children on the cusp of the justice system, with the ultimate aim of preventing them from going on to (re)offend
What will you be doing?
As part of the Turnaround Programme you will have demonstrable experience of supervising and managing a team of people, including monitoring and work allocation. You will manage a small team pf staff as well a caseload. The team will be responsible for completing assessments that you will quality assure, deliver interventions, signpost to other services, and broker arrangements, ensuring that, wherever possible the young person has access to the services required to meet their needs in the future.

We are looking for creative, persistent, and extremely motivated people to work across the county with young people and their families, with emerging needs which puts them on the cusp of entering the Criminal Justice System. We are looking for a creative, confident, dynamic, and resilient individual who is willing to go the extra mile.
You will be educated to degree standard or have substantial experience of working with children and young people and have the ability to engage positively with not only staff under pressure but young people their parents/carers colleagues in other agencies.
