About the role

Strengthening Families is part of our Children and Family Support Services.  Using a multi-agency approach, the service offers intensive support to children, young people and families with identified complex needs to strengthen parenting to support and empower them to achieve good outcomes for their children. The service delivers a range of interventions from direct work with families using an Early Help approach, to parenting and domestic abuse groups, and works with partners to create a supportive team around the family to help them to sustain the changes.

We're thrilled to announce an opportunity for an adept individual to step into the role of Senior Practitioner within the Strengthening Families Team within the Children and Family Support Service.

This position covers West Northamptonshire (Mainly the Northampton area).

What will you be doing?

You will lead and supervise a team of practitioners who hold a caseload and deliver high-level complex interventions to children and families.

Your professional leadership and support will help the team deliver safe practice and effectively manage their workloads to agreed standards and timeframes. You will need to be highly knowledgeable about the complex issues children, young people and families face and be able to work collaboratively with partners to deliver bespoke and evidence informed support to families, brokering long term and sustainable change.

You will support the team to deliver services that are responsive to the voices and lived experience of children using evidence-based interventions that improve outcomes across a range of needs.

About you

You will be highly organised and have substantial experience and skills in leading, managing, motivating, and developing a team of high performing professionals providing intensive family support in Targeted Support/Early Help, Social Work, Education or Relevant Health Discipline.

You will have a deep understanding of the complex issues faced by children and young people in the current climate, and what works to create and maintain safe, stable and sustained outcomes.

You will have proven experience in supervising or supporting staff to deliver whole family interventions.

You will have proven experience of leading with a focus on quality assurance, partnerships and ensuring effective, best practice.

You will have extensive, hands-on experience in preventative work with children and families facing escalating needs, with demonstrated ability to assess risks, safeguard, and intervene effectively.
