About the role

Northamptonshire Youth Offending Service (NYOS) is a successful partnership organisation working to prevent offending by children and young people, whilst helping to resolve offences for victims and protecting the public within your community. As part the Northamptonshire Youth Offending Service, Assistant Youth Offending Team Workers are embedded across the service undertaking multiple roles.

We are recruiting an Assistant Youth Offending Team Worker on a permanent contract. This post will be part of the Prevention and Diversion Scheme, working with young people referred to the service who are being considered for Out of Court Disposals or there is an identified need for preventative intervention. The role is working across the county and in partnership with the Police.

NYOS is committed to the use of Restorative Practices. The successful applicants will be expected to undertake training in this area and work in restorative ways as a matter of course.

What will you be doing?

Within the role you will be required to facilitating meetings and engage in or deliver training. This will require a highly effective communicator who is able to listen to and represent the views of others in sometimes difficult circumstances.

About you

Applicants should be educated to at least A level standard, will have some experience of working with children and young people, the ability to engage positively with them, their parents/carers, and colleagues in other agencies.
