Join our vibrant and supportive Kinship Assessment Team in the Fostering Service at Northamptonshire Children’s Trust, where every day brings variety and purpose. The team is responsible for recruiting and assessing potential Kinship foster carers and Special Guardians and are part of the wider fostering service.
Based at Angel Square, Northampton and with opportunities to work from home three days a week you’ll play a key role in ensuring our Kinship carers and team members receive the administrative support they need to thrive. From managing the administrative aspects of the team’s referral and assessment processes to processing invoices and medicals, your work will help create a smooth and efficient environment for those making a difference in children’s lives.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a passionate and positive team in a role that offers both flexibility and purpose. This is a fixed-term opportunity for an initial period of 3 months, with the potential for extension subject to service requirements

What will you be doing?
As a Business Support Administrator, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring everything runs like clockwork. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality administrative support to the Kinship team.
- Coordinating and processing key documents such as medicals, DBS checks and invoices.
- Managing correspondence and maintaining accurate records
- Adapting to the needs of a fast-paced, people-focused environment

About you
You’re a proactive and detail-oriented administrator who thrives in a busy, people-centred environment. You bring:
• A strong sense of initiative and the ability to work independently
• Excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail
• Confidence using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Familiar with CHARMS the system used by the fostering service or a willingness to learn.
• Experience of working in a customer-focused setting, with a commitment to confidentiality and data protection
• The ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic setting
• Flexibility on tasks as these can change at short notice.
