About the role

Do you enjoy being at the heart of a busy team, keeping things organised and running smoothly?

We are looking for an experienced administrator to join our friendly and supportive Leaving Care Business Support team. This rewarding role offers plenty of variety, opportunities to develop your skills, and the chance to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people from aged 16 to independent living.

You will be office based at Russell House, Northampton, and work 25 hours per week across five days. The standard working pattern is 9:30am to 2:30pm, with some flexibility around hours that can be discussed, subject to service needs.

We’re always happy to speak with interested candidates. If you’ve read the job description and have any questions, please feel free to email Baljit.Hughes@nctrust.co.uk

We’d love to hear from you — just remember to submit your application via the portal, as we’re unable to accept CVs sent by email.

What will you be doing?

Working within the Northamptonshire Children's Trust Leaving Care Team, this varied role combines administrative responsibilities, finance-related tasks and event coordination throughout the year.

A key part of the role involves supporting the delivery of statutory support and transition services for young people aged 16 to 25, helping to ensure they receive timely and effective assistance.

No two days are the same, with responsibilities including supporting practitioners with a range of multi-agency safeguarding meetings and ensuring accurate records are maintained through minute-taking and general administrative support.

Alongside this, you'll contribute to facilities management activities and support a variety of service projects, helping the team deliver positive outcomes for young people.

Strong organisational skills will be essential when managing accommodation bookings and coordinating interpretation services, while excellent communication skills will enable you to work effectively with colleagues, partner agencies and service users.

The role requires the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, together with confidence using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Teams.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, we encourage you to submit your application as early as possible.

About you

 •    We are looking for someone who will enjoy networking with multi agency professionals and is solution-focused, with experience in business support.

•    You’re used to working in  a fast-paced sensitive environment, able to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and manage a high-volume workload.

•    With strong literacy and numeracy skills, you consistently apply excellent attention to detail.

•    Proficiency across Microsoft applications—including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams allows you to work efficiently and professionally.

•    Clear and effective communication comes naturally to you, enabling you to build positive relationships with colleagues and partners.

•    You will have proven experience in minute-taking, and touch-typing skills would be advantageous as this forms a key part of the role.

When applying please ensure your supporting statement details how you fulfil the essential criteria set out in the person specification as this will be used for shortlisting. You will need to provide a full employment history including any gaps since leaving full time education
